چکیده

Two different olive cultivars grown under a high-density hedgerow system were studied to compare their fruiting and branch architecture features determine the possibility use ‘Calatina’ trees for intensive plantings, as local alternative international reference ‘Arbequina’. Weights of two-year-old branches, fruits leaves recorded estimate growth partitioning. Growth architectural parameters, such shoot length, vector diameter, branching angle, total height, width, area, frequency, determined by digital image analysis. Digital images also used fruit maturation peel color Whole crop weights similar in ‘Arbequina’ ‘Calatina’, while latter had greater fruit/leaf ratio, showing higher production efficiency than Fruits fewer but bigger ‘Arbequina’, suggesting an advantage both trunk-shaking straddle machine harvesting Sicilian cultivar. Leaf/wood frequency angle two cultivars. shoots exhibited bending degree those this trait particularly favors harvesting. In addition many similarities between cultivars, present study indicates that is more efficient terms yield This qualifies superior, yield-efficient cultivar suitable plantings be harvested with or side-by-side trunk shaker machines.

A New Approach for Olive (Arbequina cv.) Micropropagation: Effect of Dikegulac, Light and Carbon Source

Micro-propagation of olive provides the possibility of producing clones of native plants with appropriate attributes and mass reproduction in short period of time, compared to conventional methods. Apical dominance in olive explants limits the growth of lateral branches in vitro. The effect of Woody Plant Medium (WPM), Olive Medium (OM) and Murashig and Skoog (MS) with carbohydrate source (mann...
